Trucking Jobs Being To Even Out In Q2

Trucking industry job growth appears to be evening out, despite a positive start to the year. This trend coincides with reports of continued freight recession from major trucking companies in their Q1 earnings.

Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals a net loss of 300 trucking jobs in April. While this is the first decrease since October 2023 (when nearly 3,000 jobs were lost), year-to-date growth remains positive at 6,000 jobs. However, the industry still faces a significant gap compared to last year, with overall trucking employment down by roughly 21,000 positions.
