Texas Flooding 🌊
A catastrophic flash flood tore through Kerr County, Texas, killing at least 43 people, including 15 children, and leaving 27 campers from Camp Mystic unaccounted for.
Floodwaters from the Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in just 45 minutes, sweeping away homes, vehicles, and entire campgrounds in the early hours of Friday.

Search crews using helicopters, boats, and drones have rescued over 850 people as recovery efforts continue. Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp, was completely destroyed, and authorities say the true number of missing remains unclear due to July 4 travel.
While AccuWeather and the National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings hours ahead, many residents and camps were caught off guard. Officials have faced growing scrutiny over preparedness.
Gov. Greg Abbott declared Sunday a day of prayer, and federal agencies have pledged support. Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly called it “a once-in-a-century flood” and warned the recovery will be long and difficult.
Meth Found in Produce Truck at Georgia Warehouse 🚨

Federal agents seized over 700 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in boxes of cucumbers inside a semi-truck at a Gainesville, Georgia warehouse on June 30.
DEA agents arrested Andres Jasso, Jr. and Rufino Pineda-Perez, who were allegedly there to unload the shipment and separate the drugs from the produce. Both men were charged with possession with intent to distribute; Pineda-Perez, a twice-deported Mexican national with a felony record, was also charged with illegal reentry.
Authorities praised the multi-agency effort, saying the seizure prevented a major shipment of drugs from hitting U.S. streets.

Inbound Logistics Top 100 3PLs: 🏆
Inbound Logistics just dropped its annual Top 100 3PLs list for 2025, and while the list is alphabetical, not ranked, it’s still a snapshot of who’s leading (and surviving) in the ever-shifting third-party logistics space.
The usual heavyweights made the cut—C.H. Robinson, DHL, Ryder, J.B. Hunt, Penske, XPO (sorry, GXO)—but there’s plenty of room for the fast risers and niche players making big noise in tight corners of the market.
Names like EASE Logistics, Syfan Logistics, Sunset Transportation, and Logistics Plus continue to punch above their weight, carving out space through specialization, tech adoption, and good old-fashioned hustle.

Meanwhile, the digital freight arms of legacy giants like Amazon Freight and UPS Supply Chain Solutions are holding their ground—even as midsize 3PLs reinvent their playbooks to stay nimble.
A Few Observations:
- Tech-Forward 3PLs: More and more names on the list are leaning into real-time visibility, AI-powered routing, and automation across the board. Players like Echo, Redwood, and eShipping are blurring the lines between tech vendor and freight provider.
- Cold Chain Matters: With increased focus on food, pharma, and e-commerce fulfillment, companies like Atlanta Bonded Warehouse and MD Logistics are proving that specialized infrastructure still pays off.
- Boutique is Big: Regional players like Tucker Company Worldwide, RSI Logistics, and Regal Logistics show there's still demand for niche knowledge and hyper-focused service.
- Global Reach, Local Edge: International logistics players like Yusen, Dimerco, and Scan Global Logistics are maintaining relevance by combining overseas scale with domestic flexibility.
And yes, AI, nearshoring, and compliance chaos (hello, EPA 2027 and tariff swings) are shaping the strategies behind the scenes.
